Alive Forum 2025: Exploring Education Reform and AI in the Classroom

10.11.2025

The second annual Alive Forum gathered over 120 school leaders from across the Czech Republic to discuss the country's ongoing curriculum reform and the growing role of artificial intelligence in education. Organized by GTS Alive, the company behind ISIC and ITIC cards, the event highlighted how innovation and collaboration can shape the future of learning.

Rethinking Education: From Knowledge to Competence

The Czech Ministry of Education’s long-term curriculum reform aims to shift schools toward a competence-based approach, focusing not only on what students know, but what they can apply. Experts from the Ministry of Education, the National Pedagogical Institute, and schools across the country discussed both the opportunities and challenges of this change.

While the new model empowers schools to tailor their programs and foster creativity, it also places greater responsibility on principals and teachers. Former Education Minister Petr Gazdík emphasized that every school’s educational plan should reflect its values and environment, not just comply with administrative requirements.

AI as a Creative and Practical Tool

The conference also showcased how AI can support both teaching and school management. Teachers shared examples of using AI to bring history lessons to life, generate interactive experiments in science classes, and personalize learning for students. School leaders presented how AI helps them streamline administration, analyse data, and communicate more effectively.

Speakers also pointed to the importance of guiding students in developing attention and critical thinking skills in an AI-driven world.

Innovation Through Collaboration

Supported by partners including Bootiq, Aktivní třída, and Edookit, the event reinforced GTS Alive’s role as a trusted partner for schools. Beyond providing secure digital ID systems and access solutions, GTS Alive Group actively fosters innovation in education, helping schools across the region create safer, smarter, and more connected learning environments.
